About the platform
What problem does CaskEquity solve?
Distilleries hold aging barrels, and the records a buyer, broker or lender will ask for are scattered across production systems, spreadsheets and filing cabinets, while the cost of holding is invisible. CaskEquity puts every barrel, its warehouse receipt and its carrying cost in one ledger, owned by the party that actually holds the barrels.
Who is it for?
- Distilleries: one ledger for every barrel and its receipt, with the cost of holding beside it.
- Brokers: manage multiple client books, documents and reports in one place.
- Investor groups: one dashboard for everything the group owns, with role-based access for members and advisors.
Is this just for large distilleries?
No. CaskEquity was built alongside a Kentucky craft distillery and is designed for small and mid-sized producers who need deal-grade records without a back-office team to produce them.
What does each barrel record include?
Fill date, age, mash bill, entry proof, fill type, cooperage and char level, warehouse, floor and rick, regauge history, cost basis, storage and insurance cost, estimated market value, ownership and attached documents. Fields are configurable; no two distilleries track exactly the same things.
How does the carrying-cost engine work?
It models storage, insurance, state barrel taxes where they apply (Kentucky's, on its current phase-out schedule), money tied up and angel's share per barrel, per month, then compares selling today against holding for a chosen horizon and reports a break-even price. Every rate is editable. You can try a simplified public version on the calculator page.
Integrations and data
Does it connect to Whiskey Systems or Distill X5?
Whiskey Systems inventory imports today via CSV. A Distill X5 API integration is in progress. Any system that can export a spreadsheet can be mapped during onboarding.
Who owns the data?
You do. Every barrel record and document can be exported at any time in CSV and PDF, and we delete your data on request when an account closes.
Can outside parties see my ledger?
Only the people you give a seat to, and only the barrels they are entitled to. Your internal team sees the full ledger; a broker or investor group you invite sees their barrels and documents and nothing else.
Can a private owner or a bank use CaskEquity on their own?
Not as a standalone account. The warehouse receipt is issued by the distillery or bonded warehouse holding the barrels, so that party owns the ledger. Owners and lenders get access through the distillery that holds their barrels, which is what makes the records worth trusting.
Does CaskEquity work with DepletionIQ?
Yes. DepletionIQ handles distributor depletion reporting for the bottled side of the business; CaskEquity handles the barrel side. Bought together they share users and exports. See pricing.
Pricing and getting started
How is it priced?
Flat monthly subscription on an annual agreement, with a one-time onboarding fee. No per-barrel or per-transaction fees and no commission on anything you sell. Broker and investor-group pricing is quoted on the size of the book. Details on the pricing page.
How long does onboarding take?
Most distilleries are live within a few weeks of kickoff: import and reconciliation, document upload, role setup and training.
Is there a trial?
We offer a working demo loaded with a sample of your own inventory instead of an empty trial. Request one here.
Compliance
Does CaskEquity sell barrels or give investment advice?
No. CaskEquity is a technology platform only. We do not sell barrels, broker transactions, arrange investments or provide investment, legal or tax advice. Estimated values shown in the platform are estimates configured by the account holder and are not appraisals.
Is CaskEquity a marketplace?
No. CaskEquity is the system of record for the barrels a distillery holds. We do not list barrels publicly or match buyers and sellers.
Is CaskEquity in use today?
Yes. The platform was built and first deployed alongside a working Kentucky craft distillery, and demos are available to qualified distilleries, brokers and investor groups.
